My first trip to Oxford was to help celebrate the wedding of my dear friends Tom and Eliza. Between the Magdalen Chapel and the Bodelain Library (only two of the four venues), I don't think it's possible to have a grander wedding in Oxford...
The fun started at the Cherwell Boathouse in Oxford, where Tom was roasted within an inch of his life.

The Giants are in a weird slump at home (lost 11 of the past 13!)... Matt Cain pitched well for seven innings, striking out 11 in seven innings (I think he had eight strikeouts after 3)! The A's Kurt Suzuki was the player who came through in the clutch innings -- throwing out a stealing Fred Lewis, and hitting an RBI line-drive triple:
But the real story of this game was the starting pitching. Rich Harden and Matt Cain were both throwing in the mid-90s for seven quick innings, but Harden had the slight edge, and was pitching with a 1-0 lead since the first inning... Both teams went to their bullpens in the 8th.
Scot McLernon hosted another fantastic wine tasting (Santa Lucia Highlands Pinot Noir, 2004 or older) at his pad in Aptos. Golf balls were struck, lounging about happened poolside, and a killer tasting and dinner followed...
The wine with the most first place votes at the end of the night was the 2004 David Bruce. Tied for second were the Miura and Roar 'Gary's Vineyard'. Roar was the winery of the night though, because there was also a Roar SLH in the tasting, which got two votes for first...

]]>Momo and I had a fun round today at Crystal Springs, it was in the low 80s with a light breeze and we were paired with a great couple, Eddie and Bernie (in their late 70s) who showed us where to hit everything!
